Shaping Holy Lives - Trinity Institute Conference on Benedictine
Spirituality

The proceedings of the recent national conference of Trinity Institute,
the continuing education programme based at Trinity Church, Wall Street,
New York, held on April 28 and 29, can still be heard and seen on the
web. They include a sermon and an address by the Archbishop of
Canterbury.

The conference theme was Benedictine spirituality, and conference
addresses can be accessed through the parish's homepage:

Presentations include:

A sermon by Archbishop Rowan Williams at the opening Eucharist on the
Benedictine value of 'listening', and his 'prosaic' look inside 'God's
Workshop' 

The outspoken Joan Chittister, author and former Benedictine prioress,
tackling the essential values of St Benedict, among them creative work,
holy leisure, humility, and peace

Laurence Freeman, monk of the Monastery of Christ the King, Cockfosters,
London, asking why the ancient Rule of St Benedict is attracting
adherents to this day

Kathleen Norris, poet and former Benedictine oblate, examining the
quality of 'holy realism' through poetry
