Decontamination Workers
Taiwan Church News 2671, May 14, 2003
Translated and rewritten by David Alexander

Hsin-ai (Faith and Love) Presbyterian Church, located near the
SARS quarantined Hwa Chang Public Housing Estate in Taipei City,
recently opened its doors to serve the military forces working to
decontaminate the neighborhood and the media train that follow
the action. The church has offered its facilities as a "rest
station" where food and drink are made available. Staffing for
the program is provided by the congregation itself and by the
Christian Rescue Association.
The Rev. Wu Chien-chu requested a high power public address
system for use during mealtimes, to broadcast to the quarantined
residents of the Hwa-chang Estate. He hopes that the church can
be more actively involved in spreading the gospel of Christ
during this time.
The Christian Rescue Association is also involved at the
Chi-ho housing estate in offering relief supplies to quarantined
residents there. It has sent in small gifts and supplies, but is
short of volunteers. The association calls for volunteers to
come and join in its efforts.
