Smith, former corporate secretary of The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit
Board (MMBB), died May 12 from cancer.	She was 63.

Hopkins Smith joined the MMBB staff in 1961 as secretary to Dr. Dean R.
Wright, the late MMBB executive director emeritus.  A member of the
Management Team, she was editor of MMBB publications, including Tomorrow
magazine and ABC People, until her retirement in 1999.

Hopkins Smith is survived by her husband, Dr. Gordon E. Smith, MMBB
executive director emeritus; a sister, Barbara Kittner; and a brother,
Charles Cordell.  Condolences may be sent to Gordon Smith at 468 Riverside
Dr., Apt. 92, New York, NY 10027. 

A memorial service will be held 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in the
Sockman Lounge at The Interchurch Center, 475 Riverside Dr., New York, NY. 

The Sara Hopkins Smith Memorial Fund has been established by MMBB, 475
Riverside Dr., Suite 1700, New York, NY 10115-0049.
