DHE'S COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY GRANTS WILL BENEFIT THREE DISCIPLES-RELATED
INSTITUTIONS 
For 21 years, College/University Grants from the Division of Higher
Education have funded special projects at undergraduate institutions
related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that will
benefit
both the institution and the church as a whole. This year, more than
$41,000 will be divided among three Disciples-related colleges and
universities: Eureka College, Lynchburg College, and Columbia College.

NBA REALIGNS; IMPROVES PROGRAMS IN JACKSONVILLE
Officials with the National Benevolent Association announced plans to
realign and improve programs associated with NBA Florida Christian
Center in Jacksonville, Fla. As part of the realignment, NBA will add
one program location, explore ways to improve two others and
discontinue

DISCIPLESWORLD NAMES FIRST PUBLISHER AND EDITOR
DisciplesWorld columnist, Verity A. Jones, 36, has been named the
first
publisher and editor of the year-old magazine serving the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ). Jones, pastor of Central Christian
Church,
Terre Haute, Ind., will assume responsibility July 8 of the
publication
initiated last year by volunteers frustrated over the demise of the
church's only news and opinion journal, The Disciple. For the complete

WEEK OF COMPASSION PROVIDES EMERGENCY GRANTS
Johnny Wray, director of Week of Compassion, visited firsthand the
Midwest churches and communities affected by the rash of severe weather
that ripped the U.S. heartland earlier this month. 

Week of Compassion has provided $45,000 in emergency grants so far in
