HAMM RECEIVES HONORARY DEGREE FROM CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY
Dr. Richard L. Hamm, general minister and president of the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) received an honorary "Doctor of Human
Letters" from Chapman University on May 17, 2003. This was an
affirmation of the historical and ongoing relationship of Chapman to the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

AINSLIE LECTURE HIGHLIGHTS CCU BOARD MEETING
The Council on Christian Unity's Board of Directors met jointly with
the Council for Ecumenism of the United Church of Christ in Seattle,
Wash. on May 16-17, 2003, and took several key actions that represent a
new and expanding agenda in the ecumenical life and witness of the
Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ).  The watchword throughout the board
