	Eastern re-elects Brunner

	Dr. John G. Brunner was re-elected on the first ballot to his
second term as president of the LCMS Eastern District, at its June 13-15
convention in Amherst, N.Y.

	Delegates also elected Rev. Paul Doellinger of North Tonawanda,
N.Y., as first vice president. He formerly was the districts secretary.

	Rev. Arthur C. Dueker, Rochester, N.Y., was elected second vice
president; Rev. Roger K. Nuerge, Freedom, Pa., former second vice
president, was elected third vice president; and Rev. David Goodine,
Bristol, Pa., was re elected fourth vice president.

	A resolution was adopted that approves a feasibility study for a
new district-wide mission-outreach effort, to include planting new
congregations.

	With the theme From One Generation to Another -- Making a
Difference in the Name of Jesus, the convention officially began the
districts 150th anniversary observance.
