Reported by Li Yi-shin. Translated and rewritten by David

In the middle of the plague of SARS that hit Taiwan in May and
June, the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) sent a letter to
partner churches worldwide. The PCT asked that partners appeal to
their governments to support Taiwan's admission to the World
Health Organization. When the Reformed Church in America (RCA)
held its annual General Synod meeting early in June, it passed a
resolution directing its General Secretary to write to the
President of the United States and the Prime Minister of Canada
in support of Taiwan.
The Rev. Mr. Lim Chong-cheng, an Associate General Secretary
of the PCT, attended the RCA's synod. The Church of Christ of
China, though invited, declined to send a representative. Mr. Lim
participated in committee meetings on mission issues and met with
representatives of Japanese, Korean, Philippine, and Indonesian
churches who attended the synod. As he exchanged greetings and
information with these church members and told about the PCT's
work in Malawi and Thailand, and the ways that the PCT helps
exiles from Tibet who come to Taiwan for training.
