Liberian Delegates at LWF Tenth Assembly Speak on Global Solidarity to End
the Bloodshed at Home

Date:			Saturday, 26 July 2003

Venue:	Winnipeg Convention Centre 
Presentation Theater, 2nd Floor

Bishop Sumoward E. Harris, head of the Lutheran Church in Liberia (LCL) and
Mrs Comfort Freeman, women's representative, address the church's and
religious communities' efforts to end the war in Liberia.

Bishop Harris is a key figure in the Inter-Religious Council of Liberia, a
multi-faith body that has been actively engaged in Liberia's quest for peace
including the ongoing peace talks in Ghana.

Mrs Freeman is a founding member of Liberia's Women In Peace Building
Network, WIPNET, an active player in the peace process.

The LWF will be represented by Mr. Dennis W. Frado, director of the Lutheran
Office for World Community in New York. The office represents the concerns of
the LWF and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America at the United Nations
headquarters in New York.
