	The Rev. John F. Payne, coordinator for special funds development in
the Mission Funding and Development Office in Louisville, has accepted a job
as executive director of development at San Francisco Theological Seminary.
His new job, on the seminary's southern California campus, begins Nov. 1.

	Payne, an SFTS graduate, began is career in funds development in the
late 1970s at the seminary after serving four pastorates. He has since worked
in funds development at two other PC(USA) seminaries and one PC(USA)-related
college. He has been on national staff for the past five years.

	Kim Childress has joined the staff of Congregational Ministries
Publishing in Louisville as marketing associate. Her new work includes
development of new web sites, expansion of current marketing tools, including
an enhanced presence of CMP resources through "Marketplace," the PC(USA)'s
online store.

	Childress holds a marketing degree and was formerly public relations
manager for a Louisville automobile dealership.

	James W. Wagner, a Presbyterian elder, has been named as the next
president of Emory University in Atlanta.

	Wagner, who is currently provost and vice-president of Case Western
Reserve in Cleveland, begins his new work at the Atlanta university in

	Emory was founded by the Methodist Church in 1836 and continues to
have close ties to the church.
