Public radio interviews PC(USA) official on human sex trafficking
by Jerry L. Van Marter
LOUISVILLE - The Rev. Jennifer Butler, head of the Presbyterian Church
(USA)'s United Nations Office in New York and vice-president of a major
organization working to end the worldwide scourge of child prostitution,
child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes, was
recently interviewed on that subject by New York Public Radio.
The interview on human sex trafficking was part of the Brian Lehrer Show on
WNYC, the public radio station for New York City.
The interview can be found by going to
www.wnyc.org/shows/bl/episodes/09262003 scrolling down the page to "Human
Trafficking" article. Listening to the interview requires Real Player.
The PC(USA) has repeatedly condemned sex trafficking and called for stronger
U.S. and international law to stop it, most recently in 1994, 2001 and 2002.
Butler is vice-president of the non-profit organization End Child
Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual
Purposes -USA (EPCAT-USA).
