SCOTT FOUNDATION TO ACCEPT GRANT APPLICATIONS THROUGH MARCH 1
March 1, 2004, is the deadline for applications for grants from the Oreon
E. Scott Foundation.
The Scott Foundation, created in 1950 by St. Louis businessman and church
leader Oreon E. Scott, has granted in excess of $4 million to the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) and its various entities and organizations. To

CCU HIRES QUIGLEY TO FOCUS ON REGIONAL AND LOCAL ECUMENISM
The Council on Christian Unity has hired the Rev. Thomas Quigley to focus

PHILLIPS UNIVERSITY LEGACY SCHOLARS PROGRAM APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE ONLINE
Applications for the Phillips University Legacy Scholars program, which
recognizes Disciples with leadership potential, are now available online.
Students who attend any of the 17 colleges and universities affiliated with
the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) may apply to be a Phillips
University Legacy Scholar. All undergraduate students are eligible to apply
for the scholarship, which can be as much as $5,000.
Phillips Scholars must agree to a volunteer service project on or near
their campus. Currently 16 students on Disciples campuses are Phillips

TCU'S BRITE DIVINITY SCHOOL WILL INAUGURATE DR. D. NEWELL WILLIAMS ON JAN. 22
FORT WORTH, TX (Jan. 2, 2003) - Dr. D. Newell Williams will be inaugurated
as president of Brite Divinity School at TCU with a series of special

WEEK OF COMPASSION UPDATE
Ongoing international assistance, including that of North American
churches, will be needed for years to come to help rebuild communities in
southeastern Iran in the aftermath of the December 26 earthquake. Disciples
respond quickly through WOC with the funding of an airlift through Church
World Service of 100 medicine boxes and 5,000 health kits valued at more
