FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Internet Ministries Launches
OrthodoxPhoto
New York, NY -- The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Internet
Ministries announces the launch of www.orthodoxphoto.com, a full-featured
online photo service that allows parishes, Sunday schools, camps,
organizations, and all Orthodox Christians to develop, share, and store
their favorite photos. OrthodoxPhoto has been developed in collaboration
with Snapfish.com, a leading and award-winning online photo service with
seven million members and more than 200 million photos online.
Via OrthodoxPhoto, individuals can send in rolls of film, receive prints
and negatives, and easily share digital albums with others over the
Internet since all photos are automatically scanned into a secure online
account. Digital camera users can easily upload photos and create online
albums, as well as order prints of select photos. Photos are processed
with exceptional quality on Kodak paper.
"We are excited to offer this dynamic service to Orthodox Christians
around the world," said Theo Nicolakis, Director of the Department of
Internet Ministries. "OrthodoxPhoto provides a truly unique way to share
memories and events with friends and family. Moreover, it provides a
creative and easy-to-use mechanism for anyone to create and share
full-featured photo galleries for free, thereby adding instant value and
interest to web sites. OrthodoxPhoto delivers the highest quality in
photo development at an exceptional value. Finally, by using this
service, people will be supporting Internet Ministries and the
Department's many offerings."
Parishes and organizations will find OrthodoxPhoto useful and beneficial
to their outreach. With OrthodoxPhoto, parishes are able to build free
online photo galleries of festivals, events, retreats and any other
activities quickly and easily. These photo galleries can then be made
available through web sites or sent via email. In addition to photo
processing and online photo albums, OrthodoxPhoto also provides
individuals with easy-to-use tools to create beautiful photo gifts
including photo cards, wall calendars, and hard cover photo albums.
So that others may experience the quality and breadth of offerings first
hand, the Department of Internet Ministries is running a special offer
whereby individuals can get their first roll of film developed at no cost
and their first 10 digital camera prints processed free of charge. This
service may be accessed via the Internet at: www.orthodoxphoto.com.
Snapfish is the leading online photo service with 7 million members and
more than 200 million photos online. Snapfish has been rated the number
one online photo service in surveys from PC Data and received top quality
ratings from Popular Photography, Yahoo! Internet Life, and CNet.
The award-winning Department of Internet Ministries is charged with the
development and expansion of the Archdiocese's presence on the Internet
and coordinating the development of multimedia applications. The
Department of Internet Ministries is committed to bringing powerful and
creative ministry tools to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, her parishes
and Orthodox Christian organizations through the development and
integration of new technologies for Orthodox Christian ministry.
