Presbyterians Today posts "The Passion of the Christ" resources online

By Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - Presbyterians Today, the magazine of the Presbyterian Church
(USA) today posted a review and discussion guide for "The Passion of the
Christ" on its website.

The controversial Mel Gibson film premiers today in theaters
nationwide.

The review and discussion guide were written by the Rev. Ed McNulty,
editor of the film guide Visual Parables and author of Praying the Movies and
Praying the Movies II, published by Geneva Press. McNulty regularly reviews
movies with religious themes for Presbyterians Today.

In his review, McNulty cautions that adults see the film before
deciding whether to take their youth groups. Numerous critics have noted the
extreme violence and brutality depicted in Gibson's movie. It is rated "R."
