American Baptist News Service (Valley Forge, Pa. 3/11/04)--Francisco Litardo,
team leader for American Baptist International Ministries' Mission Education,
Communication, Events, and Technology, has resigned effective April 2. The
resignation was announced yesterday by the Rev. Hictor Cortez, International
Ministries' executive director. Litardo has accepted a position as executive
director for program with United Methodist Communications, Nashville, Tenn.

Litardo joined International Ministries' staff in April 2000 as team leader
for Mission Education and Communications. He guided the team's comprehensive
education and communications initiatives for International Ministries' Go
Global strategic plan. He previously served for two years with American
Baptist National Ministries as director of New Media and Events.

"Francisco Litardo and his team have launched us into innovative ways of
communicating our mission story across the American Baptist denomination and
with our partners around the world," Cortez said. "International Ministries
will sorely miss the wonderful gifts and talents that Francisco has shared
with us."

Cortez noted that Lisa Rothenberger, World Relief officer and a member of the
International Ministries staff, will provide interim team leadership.
