Taiwan Church News 2715, 8 through 14 March 2004

Reported by Lin Yi-ying. Translated and Rewritten by David Alexander

About a month ago after preaching a sermon the Rev. Dr. C.M. Kao collapsed on
the platform. He was rushed to the PCT's Sin Lau Christian Hospital where he
was examined and released. On March 4th it happened again. He had been
present at a meeting marking the World Day of Prayer on March 4th. Once
again
he was sent to the emergency room, and once agbain he has been released.

This time he had preached and led the congregation in prayer, after which
he
felt faint. According to his spouse, Elder Ruth Lee Kao, early that morning
they had traveled to Taipei to participate in a demonstration in front of the
Parliament building. They offered support to some people engaging in a
hunger
strike there. After the demonstration the couple returned to Tainan, but
they
skipped their evening mel and went to the prayer meeting. Fatigue and lack
of
food led to the fainting.

Once again an ambulance delivered Dr. Kao to Sin Lau Hosiptal, and after
some rest and a meal he returned home. Mrs. Kao says he is well and has no
heart problems, but has been doing too much so is tired.

On March 8th the couple went to Taichung where he was examined at the
Hoai-un Preventative Medicine Clinic. No problems were found or reported.
Mrs. Kao urges everyone to relax about Dr. Kao's health and condition, and
thanks all for their concern and prayers.
