NBA ANNOUNCES CEO CHANGES AT THREE LOCATIONS
(SAINT LOUIS, March 7, 2004) - Officials with the National Benevolent
Association announced today that new chief executive officers have been
named at locations in Missouri, California and Oklahoma.

Cathy Ferguson, CEO at NBA Cypress Village in Jacksonville, Fla., since
July 1999, has been named CEO at NBA Lenoir Retirement Community,
effective April 12. Ferguson brings more than 20 years professional
experience in senior care to the Columbia, Mo., facility.

Rick Pruett began serving as CEO at NBA Oklahoma Christian Retirement
Community in Edmond, Okla., April 5, replacing Charles Hattendorf who
retired after more than 30 years of service with NBA. Pruett brings
nearly 8 years experience in senior care, serving most recently as CEO
of a large for-profit retirement community in Terre Haute, Ind.

Finally, David Weidert, CEO at NBA Lenoir since June 2001, began
serving as CEO at NBA California Christian Home in Rosemead, Calif.,
March 1. Weidert brings nearly a decade of healthcare experience, as
well as several years of experience in real estate management, to the
position.

Jamie Frazier, NBA associate vice president of operations and former
CEO at NBA Foxwood Springs in Raymore, Mo., will serve as interim CEO at
NBA Cypress Village until a replacement can be named. For more

UCC AND DISCIPLES WOMEN WILL "MIX" MUSIC TOGETHER
"Dream On, Sisters!" is the theme for the 2006 Women's Event of the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ. The
planning team of both UCC and Disciples women, is inviting songwriters
and musicians from both churches to put this theme to music.

Release of a CD collection of selected original songs is slated for
July 2005 at both the General Synod and General Assembly when
registration for the event officially opens. The 20-woman planning team,
convened by Brenda Etheridge, Disciples of Christ from Michigan, and
Linda Jaramillo, United Church of Christ from California, expects 5000
women to attend the Event in June 2006. For further information, contact

DISCIPLESWORLD MAGAZINE STARTS REP
PROGRAM VOLUNTEER PROGRAM URGES
DONATION OF TIME NOT MONEY
DisciplesWorld is happy to announce a new volunteer program in support
of the magazine. The new initiative is called the DisciplesWorld Rep
program in which individuals promote and sell subscriptions to their
congregation.

While this program has been in the works for some time, it really got
underway at the 2003 General Assembly in Charlotte, NC where individuals
began to sign up to become Reps. Today, the program has over 200 active
DisciplesWorld Reps throughout the country and is growing. To learn more

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EARLY REGISTRATION
FOR SESSIONS 2004 MEN'S EVENT
Register by May 1 and pay only $175 for the Sessions 2004 men's event.
Men under 35 pay only $145. After May 1, registration fees for all will
be $195. Sessions 2004 will be an event that will have spiritual
relevance and build community, surrounded by God's presence. Philip
Gulley, featured in the latest issue of Disciples World magazine will
speak. There is a golf tournament, tennis, canoeing, and other physical
activities, mission/work opportunities, and great workshops. There will

APRIL 15 IS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR
GETHSEMANE MISSION YEAR
Young adults seeking to serve God by ministering to those in need are
encouraged to apply for a unique urban-centered ministry set in
Washington, DC. April 15 is the application deadline for the 2004-2005
Gethsemane Mission Year, the young adult discipleship opportunity at
National City Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Applicants must be
between the ages of 21-29, single, self-motivated, mature, stable and
have a desire to grow in the values of community, service, simplicity,
and spirituality.

ZARLEY, UPPER MIDWEST REGIONAL MODERATOR PASSES
Don Zarley died March 18, following an illness with cancer.  He most
recently served as Moderator of the Regional Board of the Upper Midwest
Region through January 2004.

During the past year, Zarley was also a member of the Board of Trustees
of Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, a trustee of the
National City Christian Church Foundation, a member of the General Board
of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and a member of the
nominating committee for the General Church.

WELL-KNOWN DISCIPLES PASTOR DIES
The Rev. Dr. Donald F. Clingan, 78, of Springfield, Ill., died March
23. Clingan served the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 46
years. For five years, he served in the division of Homeland Ministries,
served on national staff of the National Benevolent Association, serving
as executive director of the department of service to congregations and
as founding executive director of the National Center on Ministry with
the Aging.

Clingan served the church in many other capacities, was an author and
received many honors. Clingan was honored in memorial services on March
27 at Parkway Christian church in Springfield, Ill.
