American Baptist News Service (Valley Forge, Pa. 6/4/04)--The Rev. Dr.
Cassandra Carkuff Williams will join National Ministries' staff as Judson
Press managing editor and discipleship resources developer on Aug. 1.

In this new position Williams will manage the editorial and production stages
of Judson Press manuscripts, and develop and assess discipleship materials
and educational resources. Williams also will build bridges between
ministries of education/discipleship and publishing.

Currently Williams serves Congregational Ministries Publishing, Presbyterian
Church (USA), in Louisville, Ky., as editor of Bible Quest and We Believe
curriculum materials. During her six years with Congregational Ministries
Publishing she has edited academic books, children's books and trade books,
along with hiring writers, working with designers and reviewing books at all
stages of production. 

The Hermitage, Pa., resident--who has more than a decade of experience as an
American Baptist pastor--has worked as a pastor and co-pastor in New York at
First Baptist Church of Canisteo and The York-Mumford Parish, respectively.
In Pennsylvania Williams served as youth pastor at Armenian Martyr's
Congregational Church in Havertown and children's minister at Bala Cynwyd
United Methodist Church. 

Ordained in 1984, Williams holds Ed.D. and Th.M. degrees from Union
Theological Seminary, Richmond, Va. She earned an M.Div. degree from Eastern
Baptist Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, Pa., and a B.A. degree from the
State University of New York, Cortland, N.Y.
