SUDAN ECUMENICAL FORUM (SEF)

GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Theme:	A Just Peace for Sudan

June 14 to June 16, 2004

Limuru Conference Centre

As you are aware, we have lately been encouraged by developments in the 
Sudan peace process. Churches are exhilarated and hope for a lasting just 
peace in Sudan after decades of untold suffering.

The post-war Sudan presents several challenges.  Accordingly, the 
ecumenical movement, and Sudanese churches will meet under the auspices of 
Sudan Ecumenical Forum which holds its General Assembly in Limuru, Kenya 
from June 13 to 16, 2004 to chart out a way forward for the new Sudan.

Expected participants at the assembly will include a cabinet minister 
representing the host country, Kenya, church leaders from Sudan, 
representative of Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement (SPLM), representatives 
of Inter-governmental Authority for Development (IGAD), representatives of 
the ecumenical movement and international organisations.

Sub-themes of the Assembly are:-

	From peace agreement to a lasting and just peace
	Stabilising peace in the in the region
	Stabilising peace through reconciliation and development
	Strengthening African Solidarity

Thursday June 17 at 10.00 a.m.		  - Wrap-up press conference at the 
AACC Board room, Waiyaki Way, Westlands, Nairobi to be addressed by some of 
the high profiled participants and assembly organisers
