Newest Youth Ministry Video wins the Award of Excellence in the
2004 Videographer Awards Competition

Garrison, New York - The Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries of
the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America is pleased to announce that its
latest youth ministry resource, "Teen Violence: Fight the Good Fight", the
third and newest video in the Orthodox Christian Teen Video Series, has won
the "Award of Excellence" in the 2004 Videographer Awards Competition. This
video, along with the other videos in the series, were produced by
GOTelecom (Greek Orthodox Telecommunications) and the Department of Youth
and Young Adult Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

This competition had over 2,000 entries from the United States and foreign
countries in the Religious/Educational Category, and Teen Violence was
deemed to be among the best submitted. Judges granted the Award of
Excellence to those projects which were written, produced, shot and edited
in an exceptional manner. Only 12% of the entries won the Award of
Excellence.

The Orthodox Christian Teen Video Series addresses issues that young people
are facing daily. The topics for the video series are chosen after
extensive research in the area of youth culture and feature young people,
hierarchs, clergy and professionals throughout our country. All of the
films are directed and produced by Nick Furris, Senior Producer/Director
of GOTelecom, written by a team comprised of Fr. Mark Leondis, Fr. Anthony
Savas, Dn. Paul Zaharas and Fr. Gary Kyriakou. Patrick Herbert is the
Director of Photography. The films are edited and produced in Jacksonville,
FL, at Spectrum Films.

According to Nick Furris, "The Department of Youth and Young Adult
Ministries, headed by Fr. Mark Leondis, is offering the faithful youth and
parents of our Archdiocese vital, crucial and pertinent videos that have
the opportunity to transform their lives. It is my hope that every young
Orthodox Christian has the opportunity to view these videos".

This video was sponsored in part by a matching grant from the Leadership
100 Endowment Fund. Previous titles in the series include "Substance
Abuse: Our Kids Are Not Immune" and "Sexual Purity: Mind, Body and Soul".
Each video features a Parent/Youth Worker section and a resource book which
includes sessions, retreats, patristic and scriptural references, as well
as important truths on working with young people facing these difficult
issues. You can pre-order your copy of Teen Violence or purchase other
videos in the series by visiting the web-site at www.youth.goarch.org.
