	Convention votes to amend
	procedure for filling vacancies

	Delegates today amended the Synods bylaw procedure for filling
vacancies on synodically elected boards and commissions. The list of
candidates for such positions will now be prepared by the chairman and
two members of the Synods Committee for Convention Nominations, in
consultation with the director of Human Resources. (For more, go to

	Delegates adopt human care resolutions

	Convention delegates adopted resolutions supporting
health-and-healing ministries, pregnancy-care centers, ministry to
people with disabilities, review of birth-control products and quilting
ministry in the meetings closing session today. (For more, go to

	Delegates approve Houston as site for 2007 convention

	Houston will be the site of the 2007 convention of The Lutheran
ChurchMissouri Synod, delegates said today, noting that Houston offers
significant savings in hotel, airline and personnel costs. (For more, go

	Convention moves outreach ministry,
	urges short-term mission participation

	With no discussion from the floor, delegates today passed
resolutions to reassign the director of outreach-ministry position from
the Synods Board for District and Congregational Services to LCMS World
Mission, and to encourage members to participate in short-term mission
work.

	Delegates clarify interim appointments

	Delegates voted today (July 15) to limit interim chief executive
officers to 18 months, unless the Synod president approves extension of

	affirms preaching, teaching creation
