It appeared to be a family holding a wedding feast. The menu was similar,
and
the tables were all arranged in the familiar fashion. But why was Rev. Huang
Shean-kuang leading elders and deacons among the tables toasting everyone
with
cups of tea?

It was the annual church supper held by Rong-Shing (Glory Star) Presbyterian
Church in Taipei, which the congregation uses as an evangelistic outreach
event. This year it was especially well attended. Fifty five tables, each
with a capacity of ten diners, were set out.

Following an enthusiastic praise music stage show, those in attendance
continued to dine while Dr. Lin Cheng-kuo, superintendent of Nan Kuang
Neurology Hospital, delivered a testimony. When Rev. Huang issued an
invitation to commitment more than fifty people stood and walked forward to
the platform to declare their decision to become Christians.

This sort of response is rarely seen among Taiwan's Presbyterians. One can
hope for the beginning of a trend.
