Media Advisory on the 2005 Primates Meeting

The Primates of the Anglican Communion are to hold their regular meeting at
the Dromantine Conference Centre near Newry, Northern Ireland, between
21-25 February 2005.

The meeting of the 38 provincial Primates of the Anglican Communion will be
centred on Bible study, Eucharist and retreat led by the Archbishop of
Canterbury, the Most Revd Rowan Williams. It will include careful study of
the Windsor Report - the recommendations of the Lambeth Commission on
Communion published in October 2004 - and its ongoing reception process.

Chairing the meeting will be Archbishop Rowan and it will be hosted by the
Primate of All Ireland and chairman of the Lambeth Commission, the Most
Revd Robin Eames. The recently commissioned Secretary General of the
Anglican Communion, the Revd Canon Kenneth Kearon, will act as the
meeting's secretary.

As at former meetings, the discussions held over these five days are
closed. At the end of the meeting, it is expected that the Primates will
issue a communiqué, and that a press briefing will be scheduled at the
Dromantine Conference Centre.

All journalists wishing to be considered for invitation to the final
briefing must complete the accreditation process below and those attending
must hold valid press identification issued by a recognized press
association or organization. Numbers are likely to be heavily restricted
for this occasion because of the limited space and it may be necessary to
operate a pool arrangement for some aspects of the coverage.

A photocall for the Primates will be held after Evensong at Armagh
Cathedral on Tuesday 22 February. Journalists who have sought accreditation
for the final briefing will automatically be accredited for this event, and
any other additional briefings.

Although every effort will be made to accommodate requests, priority will
be given to those who are journalists working for bona fide media
organizations.

During the meeting, requests for information can either been gained from
Canon Jim Rosenthal on 07803 894751, who will be at the Dromantine Centre,
or from Michael Craske at the Anglican Communion Office in London, on 020
7313 3922.

Requests for information concerning the Archbishop of Canterbury should be
addressed to the Revd Jonathan Jennings on 07801 964644 or Sarah Williams
at Lambeth Palace on 020 7898 1280.
