EASTON, PA - Daniel H. Weiss, dean of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences
at The Johns Hopkins University, has been named the 16th president of
Lafayette College. He will assume the presidency on July 1, succeeding Arthur
J. Rothkopf, who became president in 1993 and announced his retirement last
year.

DANVILLE, KY - From CNN to Stars and Stripes, media are buzzing about
sociology professor Beau Weston's Centre College course on coffee, cafes and
the social synergy they create. The class, "Cafes and Public Life," was

MARYVILLE, TN - Two historic buildings at Maryville College, built in the
19th and early 20th centuries, have added 21st-century hardware. Wireless
access points recently installed in Lamar Memorial Library in Thaw Hall and
Isaac's Café in Bartlett Hall enable students to access the Internet without
cables or data ports.

DECATUR, GA - Agnes Scott College has received the 2004 Award for Overall
Institutional Excellence from the Georgia Educational Advancement Council
(GEAC). Agnes Scott was one of seven schools honored during GEAC's recent
annual conference at St. Simons Island, GA.
