Princeton Theological Seminary will inaugurate the Rev. Iain Torrance
as its sixth president on March 11 in the Princeton University chapel.

Torrance, a minister in the Church of Scotland, served as a pastor
for three years before moving into academia, first as a lecturer at Queen's
Theological College in Birmingham, England, and then as a professor at the
University of Aberdeen in Scotland. In 2001 he was named dean of the faculty
of arts and divinity and also appointed chaplain-in-ordinary to the Queen in
Scotland. In 2003, he was elected to a one-year term as moderator of the
Church of Scotland.

Torrance has degrees from the University of Edinburgh (MA), St.
Andrews University (BD) and Oxford University (PhD).

Rick Ufford-Chase, the moderator of the PC(USA) General Assembly,
will be one of 12 ecclesiastical delegates attending the inauguration
ceremony.

The Rev. Rodney A. Sewell has joined the staff of the PC(USA) Board
of Pensions (BOP) in Philadelphia as an educational specialist, succeeding
the Rev. James Graham, who recently retired after 38 years of service to the
denomination. Sewell's responsibilities include helping BOP plan members
understand and use BOP benefits and programs.

Before joining the BOP, Sewell was director of planned giving at
Regis University, a Jesuit school in Denver. He also is a former development
officer at the PC(USA) Foundation, where he was employed for 15 years.

First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio, TX, has elected the Rev.
Richard R. Kannwischer as its pastor.

Kannwischer, a native of Waco, TX, is a graduate of Trinity
University and Princeton Theological Seminary. He has served pastorates at
First Presbyterian Church of Houston and Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church of
New York City, and is now pastor of Central Presbyterian Church in Summit,
NJ.

He begins his new pastorate on Easter Sunday, March 27.

Congregational Ministries Publishing, part of the PC(USA)'s
Congregational Ministries Division, has appointed Christopher Lega as
associate for administration.

Lega, who has degrees in both accounting and finance, brings 17 years
of experience to the position. He moved to the PC(USA) from the Miller
Company in Louisville, where he was comptroller.

Jennifer Brooks has joined the Internet Services department of the
Office of Communication in Louisville as a Web formatter. Brooks has
extensive experience in communications and public relations and served as
communications coordinator of Central Christian (Disciples of Christ) Church
in Lexington, KY.

The Association of Theological Booksellers has chosen An Introduction
to the Old Testament: The Canon and Christian Imagination, by Walter F.
Brueggemann, as Best Academic Book of 2004. Brueggemann, one of the nation's
foremost Old Testament scholars, is professor emeritus at Columbia
Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. The book was published by Westminster
John Knox Press.

The Rev. Tom Tyndall, a minister member of Middle Tennessee
Presbytery, will be featured with his extended family this week on the hit TV
program, "The Dr. Phil Show."

The segment, titled "Is This Family Normal?", features a studio
interview and conversations with various Tyndall family members.

Tyndall described the program this way: "They think we're a funny
family because Betty (Tyndall's wife) is a therapist with a subspecialty in
sex therapy, and I am a pastor, and we've talked pretty freely with our
daughters and sons-in-law about sexual matters. It promises to be a humorous
bit ... and we'd like to see that God is honored even in humor."

The Rev. Hector Mendez, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in
Havana, Cuba, has been elected moderator of the island nation's Presbyterian
Reformed Church. Mendez has a long history of ecumenical involvement in Cuba
and Latin America and is a member of the Central Committee of the World
Council of Churches.

Others elected as officers of the growing Cuban church, which was
part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) until 1967, are Carlos Camps, general
secretary; the Rev. Carlos Piedra, vice-moderator; and Abel Machado,
treasurer.
