American Baptist News Service (Valley Forge, Pa. 4/11/05)--The Rev. Dr.
Larry L. Greenfield, former president of Colgate Rochester Crozer
Divinity School, began April 2 as interim executive minister for the
American Baptist Churches of Metro Chicago.

Greenfield led Colgate Rochester Crozer, an American Baptist-related
seminary in Rochester, N.Y., from 1980 to 1990. Ordained by the First
Baptist Church of Chicago in 1967, he also has served as a dean and
professor in seminary education, as interim pastor, and as a research
scholar on topics related to faith, morality, justice and healing.

Most recently he has served Protestants for the Common Good, where he
was editor and theologian-in-residence and where he will continue to
write a bi-weekly column.

He is a member of Hyde Park Union Church in Chicago.

In announcing the appointment, the Rev. Jesse Brown, region president,
noted that Greenfield's "administrative experience, pastoral presence,
personal integrity and theological leadership will be great assets in
his ministry with our region."

ABC of Metro Chicago, one of 35 regions within American Baptist Churches
USA, includes approximately 67 churches and 18,300 members.
