Listening, Learning as Anglicans: Women's voices bring international
perspectives
ENS 052005-2
[ENS] The voices of women across the Anglican Communion bring firsthand
perspectives on the intersections of faith, poverty, and health crises,
among other deep challenges. The meeting earlier this year of the 49th
session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW)
offered a unique opportunity for U.S. Anglicans -- all members of the
Episcopal Church -- to listen and learn about these challenges.
A forum titled "Repairing the World: Anglican Women's Faith in Action"
was
held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.
In a series of interviews with Episcopal News Service, Anglican women
brought news from their provinces and spoke about their commitment to
issues
of justice, peace and gender equity.
Video streams of the interviews and the forum can be found online at
http://www.anglicanlistening.org.
Launched at Pentecost, the website will continue to expand with
additional
weekly postings under the title "The Episcopal Church: Listening and
Learning as Anglicans."
