Presbyterian Media Mission
planning silver-anniversary celebration

by Jerry L. Van Marter

LOUISVILLE - The Presbyterian Media Mission (PMM) and its award-winning radio
show, PASSAGES, will be honored during a 25th-anniversary celebration in
Pittsburgh on Oct. 9.

Joanne Rogers, wife of the late Rev. Fred Rogers - creator of the PBS
program, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood - is honorary chairperson for the gala
event. The keynote speaker is renowned actor, director, producer and peace
activist Mike Farrell of the hit TV series, M*A*S*H* and Providence.

A number of milestones will be celebrated, including PASSAGES
producer Dennis Benson's 30 years on the air in Pittsburgh.

"The Power of Story" is the theme. "Our stories are the most
valuable asset the church has in sharing good news with people caught up in
an often broken and confused world," said PMM Executive Director Gregg
Hartung.

The Pittsburgh-based PMM provides media and communications services
to governing bodies in the synods of the Trinity and Northeast, and produces
its own media programming.
