MECC and WCC Middle East Desk have been cooperating closely, coordinating
their ecumenical activities.  On September 21, MECC and WCC jointly called
the Middle Eastern churches to raise their prayers for peace.  A Holy Mass
and ceremony were held at the St. Georges Greek Orthodox Cathedral, in the
Place de l'Etoile, centre of Beirut. Prayers, hymns and speeches filled the
event in the presence of a big audience.
