WSC-AR Solicits Nominations to Governing Board

November 14, 2005

The World Sikh Council - America Region (WSC-AR), a representative and
elected body of Sikh Gurdwaras and institutions in the United States of
America, invites nominations from member organizations to fill five open
positions on its Regional Committee.

Each member organization of WSC-AR can nominate up to five Sikhs. Each
nominee must live within the United States and must be a Sikh who:
- has full faith in only the Ten Gurus and Siri Guru Granth Sahib and
believes in no other religion;
- accepts and follows the Sikh Rehat Maryada, in particular has not
committed any of the four "Bajar Kurehats" listed in the Sikh Rehit Maryada;
- is not less than 21 years of age;
- has proficiency in reading, writing and speaking Punjabi or English; and
- believes in the aims and objects of the World Sikh Council - America Region.

Nominations can be submitted by member organizations of WSC-AR on the
appropriate forms by the deadline of November 30, 2005. Nominations forms
were mailed to member organizations on November 14, 2005. Additional copies
of nomination forms can be obtained by member organizations by e-mailing
contact@worldsikhcouncil.org.

The Regional Committee acts as the governing board of WSC-AR. It consists
of 16 members elected by member organizations. Each Regional Committee
member is appointed for a three year term. Every year about 1/3rd members
of the Regional Committee are replaced with newly elected members.

For the last several years, the non-partisan selection / election process
successfully implemented by WSC-AR involves soliciting nominations from
member organizations and the subsequent soliciting of votes on eligible
nominees by member organizations. The eligible nominees that receive the
largest number of votes are elected to the vacant positions on the Regional
Committee.

Permission of nominee is not necessary to make nominations by member
organizations. After the voting is completed, only nominees who receive the
largest number of votes are contacted by WSC-AR. This process allows for a
positive voting process. Canvassing for votes to member organizations is
strenuously discouraged.

The voting process is expected to be completed by December 31 and the five
new members of the Regional Committee will serve January 1, 2006 to
December 31, 2008.

The WSC-AR is a representative and elected body of Sikh Gurdwaras and
