The Central Committee of the MECC Department of Service to Palestinian
Refugees met from November 15-17, 2005. MECC General Secretary, Mr. Guirgis
Saleh, gave the opening address of the meeting. The committee reviewed its
activities in light of the Strategic Planning and Evaluation undertaken
recently by the Department. The meeting came out with the following
decisions: a) all Areas and Central Office to be ready to have drafts for
new Plans of Action by May 2006 to be submitted to the Central Committee of
DSPR and to the Round Table with partners.  b) Based on the recommendations
of the Evaluation conducted in March - April 2005, a decision was taken to
look for a project manager at the Central Office and to undertake internal
audit for all Areas by the Finance Officer of the Department. As for the
Central Office, interim internal audit would be carried-out by the External
Auditor until a final decision is made on this. c) There was a commitment by
all to carry out the recommendations of the evaluation and to work for a new
DSPR by 2007 based on select target groups; i.e., women, youth and children
and on specific sectors; i.e., health, vocational training and community
