VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS)-The Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board
(MMBB) has published the 2005 issue of ABC People, a full-color magazine
with stories about the rich variety of ways American Baptist ministers
and missionaries live in retirement.

The cover story features the Rev. José Montaño, Huntington Park,
California. A native of Bolivia, José accepted an invitation from his
sister and their father to join them in their ministry to
Spanish-speaking people in Pasadena, California. José summarized his
ministry as "church planting, building up congregations, healing,
edifying and equipping the saints." His daughter, the Rev. Ruth Acosta,
like her father and grandfather before her, is drawn to a
church-planting ministry. She is associate pastor of the Pathway Church
at Ladera Ranch, a new church start in Southern California.

Also featured (in alphabetical order) are the Rev. Allen Epp, Emporia,
KS; the Rev. Dr. Louis Johnson, Detroit, MI; the Rev. William Kastning,
Delta, CO.; Dr. Patricia Magdamo, King of Prussia, PA; the Rev. Shirley
Tupper, Greenfield, WI; and the Rev. Marcus Garvey Wood, Baltimore, MD.
