Middle East Youth Prepare for Porto Allegre

A preparatory meeting organized by the WCC Middle East Desk, December 9-10,
2005, in Cairo-Egypt, for young stewards and delegates to the WCC 9th
General Assembly brought together 15 youth from different churches in the
region to prepare together for the event. Together they discussed their role
during the Assembly, reflected on the Assembly theme, shared views,
concerns, fears and expectations and were oriented about the different
Assembly events and Mutiraos by MECC Unit on Education and Renewal Director,
Mr. Razek Siriani, World Student Christian Federation-Middle East Secretary
Mr. Elie Halabi, and Mr. Lukasz Nazarko from the WCC.

 

Much enthusiasm was expressed by the participants who are looking forward to
share their local situations, the challenges of the Middle East and their
struggles, witnesses and hopes with other Assembly participants, in a spirit
of fellowship, mutual understanding and respect.
