MECC Presidents Meet to Assess MECC Work

MECC Presidents, H.H. Pope Shenouda III, Rev. Dr. Safwat Al Bayadi and H.E.
Bishop Youhanna Kolta, and MECC General Secretary, Mr. Guirgis Saleh, met on
December 20, 2005 to review and assess the work of the Council during the
past two years. Together they reviewed the programs and the financial
situation of the Council, as well as the progress of the restructuring
process. They decided to meet with the MECC Finance Committee on January 23,
2006, in Cairo, to further discuss the evaluation process to be undertaken
by the Council. They noted that the Restructuring Committee will be meeting
from January 16-17, 2006 in Beirut, to coordinate all the responses and
suggestions received to date from the churches regarding the restructuring
of the Council and the amendment of the constitution.

 

MECC Presidents gave their suggestions to the General Secretary and affirmed
the importance of the MECC and the need for member churches to ensure their
contributions to the MECC, in addition to their membership fees.
