Church World Service Announces Three Appointments

NEW YORK-Jan.31-Global Humanitarian agency Church World Service has
announced new staff in three positions.

Cheryl Dudley joined the staff early this year as senior advisor to the
executive director. Victor Hsu previously held the position.

Before coming to Church World Service, Dudley worked with National
Ministries of the American Baptist Churches USA as associate executive
director. Prior to that she was executive and program director of the
Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service, and has served as acting
director of African American Studies at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.


Dudley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College, a Master of
Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of
Ministry in Executive Leadership from McCormick Theological Seminary.

Lynda Selde joined Church World Service's Education and Advocacy Program
as associate director for analysis and advocacy at the United Nations on
January 17.

Selde's experience includes work for non-governmental organizations,
including CARE, the United States Committee for UNICEF, and the United
Nations, where she worked for the United Nations Development Fund for
Women, United Nations Volunteers, and the United Nations Staff College in
Turin, Italy.

Before joining Church World Service, Selde was director of international
relations for Girl Scouts of the USA. She is an adjunct faculty member of
New York University's Center for Global Affairs.

Selde earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University and a
Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

On January 23, Fidele Lumeya joined the Washington, D.C. office of Church
World Service's Emergency Response Program as associate director for
international response, replacing Donna Derr, who was elected in October
2005 as Director for Emergency Response

Lumeya's extensive experience in humanitarian aid, international development and disaster response includes work for the Mennonite Central Committee
and Refugees International in Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo,
Liberia, Ivory Coast, Burundi, Chad, and Sudan.

Lumeya earned a Master of Arts Degree in Conflict Analysis from the
Conflict Transformation Program at Eastern Mennonite University and is the
founder of Council of Peace and Reconciliation in Bukavu, Eastern
Democratic Republic of Congo.
