SPOKANE, WA - The School of Global Commerce and Management at Whitworth College will offer a Master of Business Administration degree program beginning in the fall semester. The program will serve full- and part-time students with courses taught by Whitworth faculty and regional business experts. The curriculum will include courses in accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing, as well as international business, ethics and entrepreneurship.

CLINTON, SC - Dr. Keith Campbell, one of the men responsible for cloning the world's most famous sheep, visited Presbyterian College on March 7 to discuss the process used in cloning and its potential benefits and pitfalls. Campbell, a professor in the school of biosciences at the University of Nottingham in England, was the keynote speaker for the college's annual Lanier Symposium on Technology. He is one of the scientists at the Roslin Institute in Scotland who in 1996 cloned Dolly, a Flynn Dorset Lamb.

HASTINGS, NE - Hastings College President Phillip Dudley Jr., was recently appointed to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC). More than 550 independent colleges and universities in the United Sates are members of CIC, a national service organization for small and mid-sized independent, liberal-arts institutions. CIC works to advance institutional excellence and enhance private higher education's contributions to society.

ST. PAUL, MN - National Public Radio's award-winning White House correspondent Don Gonyea will discuss "The Bush White House: First Term Successes, Second Term Stumbles" at Macalaster College on March 29. The presentation will start at 8 p.m. in the Alexander G. Hill Ballroom in Kagin Commons.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Eckerd College alumnus James "Jim" D. Large (class of 1997) was recently appointed fire chief for the city of St. Petersburg. As chief, he will oversee fire prevention, operations, and administration of the department, which responds to approximately 41,000 emergency calls per year. Large joined the city of St. Petersburg's Fire & Rescue Department in 1974. After graduating with honors from St. Petersburg College with two associate's degrees in fire science (suppression and prevention), he earned a bachelor's degree with distinction in organizational studies from Eckerd College's Program for Experienced Learners in 1997. He is also a graduate of the Eckerd College Leadership Development Institute's Leadership Development Program and the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership St. Pete program.
