After Archbishop Chrysostomos¹ election on Sunday November 5, 2006 the Cypriot Island celebrated his installation on November 12, 2006 at the Cathedral of the Orthodox Archbishopric of Cyprus in Nicosia.
Representatives of the Orthodox Patriarchates, Heads of Churches and the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, H.B. Christolodos, participated in thi s ceremony in the presence of the Cypriot President, the Speaker of the House , Prime Minister of Cyprus and high-level officials.
MECC General Secretary and Associate General Secretary, Mr. Samer Laham, as well as MECC staff in Cyprus also attended the event.
On this occasion, the Middle East Council of Churches¹ Presidents, Executiv e Committee, General Secretary and staff convey their warmest congratulations and best wishes to H. E. Archbishop Chrysostomos, praying that the Church o f Cyprus be blessed under his leadership.
