The MECC Family Education Program in Egypt organized a one-day ecumenical seminar for the graduates of Family Counseling church related schools on November 17, 2006. 75 participants shared their experiences and learning about Counseling.
A power point presentation introduced the MECC and the work of the Unit on Education. It was followed by a reflection on what a Christian family means. The importance of family counseling in the life of churches and individuals was highlighted. Speakers shared basic educational tools and methods used in counseling, underlining its role in the choice of the right spouse and in pre-marital courses offered to future spouses by the Catholic church. Testimonies and experiences in overcoming difficulties between couples in their first years of marriage were shared with the participants.
