Religion Communicators Council names 2007 Wilbur Awards recipients

Louisville, KY -- The 2007 Wilbur Awards, recognizing outstanding work in the secular media that address religious issues, themes and values, will be presented here April 28 at the Muhammad Ali Center.
The annual awards are presented by the Religion Communicators Council (RCC) and are named for Marvin C. Wilbur, a pioneer in the field of religion public relations.
The Wilbur Awards banquet and recognition ceremony will conclude the annual RCC national convention being held here April 26 - 28. RCC, based in New York, is a 78-year-old interfaith organization of professional communicators working in the field of religion. It is the oldest and largest organization of its kind.
The awards to be presented, for work done in 2006, are:

The host for this year's ceremonies is Dawne Gee. Gee is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast veteran, anchoring the NBC-affiliate afternoon news. She serves on the Jefferson County Minority AIDS Foundation Board and is an alumnus of the University of Louisville. Additionally Gee is active in many other
community organizations.
Each Wilbur Award winner will receive a hand-made stained glass
trophy.
