Gathering planned for clergy in wake of Virginia Tech shootings

Campus chaplain reaches out to students

[ENS] The Episcopal Church is continuing to help people connected to the April 16 killings on the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (http://www.vt.edu).

Those efforts range from the continuing individual and corporate prayers of Episcopalians around the church to a planned April 21 gathering for area clergy at Christ Episcopal Church (http://www.christchurchblacksburg.org) in Blacksburg, Virginia Tech's home, where the Episcopal campus chaplain is spending most of his time being with students as they deal with their reactions.

New Jersey church may finance ministry by selling its windows

[Religion News Service] At the turn of the last century, Elizabeth, New Jersey, was a thriving industrial powerhouse and the congregation at St. John's Episcopal Church reflected the city's success.

Wealthy professionals and industry captains filled its pews and their money filled its collection plates. A multimillion-dollar endowment was built and the church's most prestigious families commissioned 10-foot-tall stained glass windows from Louis Comfort Tiffany to adorn its massive stone walls.
