SUMMER INSTITUTE ON YOUTH MINISTRY: The Departments of Religious Education and Youth and Young Adult Ministries are collaborating and partnering with the Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute for Summer Institute 2007, June 6-9 in Berkeley, California. The focus of the Summer Institute is Youth Ministry and will feature hands-on, experiential lectures and workshops presented by a variety of Orthodox and Ecumenical scholars and practitioners. The cost is $250 for the entire program. For more information go to

NEW GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE: The Paleologos Graduate Scholarship Fund has been established at the Archdiocese to assist graduate students in various fields. At least one award of $10,000 will be given annually. More information and application guidelines are available at

SUNDAY SCHOOL PRE-REGISTRATION ENCOURAGED: The Department of Religious Education encourages parishes to hold pre-registration for the 2007-2008 Church school year. This will assist with planning, organizing, and ordering of materials. By ordering materials in June, classes can be prepared well in advance and teachers can review materials. Also, it avoids the last-minute rush and next day orders in September, which can add to the cost of materials.
