Peruvian Quake Survivors to Receive CRWRC Emergency Aid

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.: The Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (www.crwrc.org) will respond immediately to the many thousands of survivors of last week's devastating 8.0 earthquake that struck 200 km south of Lima, near Pisco and Ica, Peru.

CRWRC is partnering with the National Evangelical Council of Peruvian Churches (CONEP) and other disaster organizations to supply emergency food and non-food items that are scheduled to reach victims early this week, including maize flour, beans, blankets, and cooking items.

"Our partners on the ground are investigating our best response," says Jacob Kramer, CRWRC International Relief Director. "The most affected areas are difficult to reach because of the extensive damage to roads and communications systems, but we are moving ahead."
