CHICAGO - McCormick Theological Seminary has received a $1 million gift from Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago. The contribution is part of a greater initiative at Fourth Presbyterian Church known as "Project Light," the congregation's comprehensive plan to secure resources for facility improvements, expanded community service programs, endowment growth and strengthened mission partnerships. The gift was made as unrestricted support, and McCormick's leaders have invested it into the school's general endowment fund. In recognition of the support, the seminary's main student and community lounge has been named in honor of the congregation and the Rev. John M. Buchanan, the church's long-time senior pastor and McCormick's immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees.
