$100,000 DONATION FROM NEWMAN'S OWN FOUNDATION TO GREEK FIRE RELIEF FUND

New York - The Board of Directors of Newmanâ??s Own Foundation recently voted to make a $100,000 contribution to the Greek Fire Relief Fund of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The Foundation, which was established by Paul Newman, has its headquarters in Westport, Connecticut, and since 1982 has given over $200,000,000 to thousands of charities worldwide.

â??We are greatly surprised but deeply grateful that Newmanâ??s Own Foundation has chosen to donate these funds to this worthy relief effort of the Archdiocese,â?? stated His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America. â??It is heartwarming that this renowned Foundation which supports so many worthy endeavors throughout the world opted to be a part of the Archdioceseâ??s efforts to alleviate the suffering of all those people adversely affected by the catastrophic fires in Greece. Donations such as this will enable us to assist those individuals who day-to-day struggle to recover from the devastation left behind and put their lives back together,â?? concluded His Eminence.

With this latest donation, the Greek Fire Relief Fund has collected close to $3,500,000.
