ZELIONOPLE, PA - At its November meeting, Beaver-Butler Presbytery approve 100 percent participation by its churches in Mission Challenge '07, a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) effort to reconnect congregations and presbyteries with Presbyterian missionaries around the world. The presbytery includes 87 churches.

In a note to Beaver-Butler's stated clerk, David C. Beyers, Presbyterian World Mission Director Hunter Farrell wrote, "On behalf of Presbyterian World Mission's staff and our missionaries around the world, I want to thank you and all the churches of Beaver-Butler Presbytery for your presbytery's unity in its commitment to support the mission of the Church through Mission Challenge '07."

CHICAGO, IL - "Educating the Whole Church" is the theme of LEAD 2008 to be held March 1 at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, IL. LEAD (Leadership, Education And Development) is presented in partnership by the Presbytery of Chicago's Empower Ministry Mission Priority Leadership Team and McCormick Theological Seminary.

LEAD will offer more than 30 workshops for elders, deacons, church school teachers, clergy, clerks, youth workers, church musicians, mission workers and trustees. Rodger Nishioka, Associate Professor of Christian Education at Columbia Theological Seminary will be the keynote speaker.

Last year, more than 300 people attended LEAD.

SEATTLE - The Presbytery of Seattle has a new "iPhone directory" that promises to greatly enhance communication within the presbytery.

Created by the Rev. David Hackett, a member of the presbytery, the electronic directory for handheld internet devices includes contact information and photos for all the presbytery's churches, Google maps with directions to each church, links to the presbytery's and other PC(USA) Web sites, and the denomination's ministerial directory.

KEARNEY, NE - A decommissioning service for Westminster Woods Camp, which had been a ministry of the Presbytery of Central Nebraska until it closed this year, has been set Jan. 6 at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, NE.

The service will recognize those who have served at the camp. The service will also include a brief history, with accompanying photographs. Camp t-shirts will be available for free during the reception that follows the service.

EAGAN, MN - "Rebooting the Church for the 21st Century" is the theme of the Synod of Lakes and Prairies' annual "Clearwater Conference."

Scheduled for April 18-20 at Presbyterian Clearwater Forest in Deerwood, MN, the conference will feature keynote speaker Leonard Sweet, author of the bestselling The Gospel According to Starbucks. Sweet has been called one of the most influential Christians in America by The Church Report. He is professor of evangelism at Drew Theological School in Madison, NJ, and visiting professor at George Fox University in Portland, OR.

EVERETT and YAKIMA, WA - Construction is underway at Tall Timber Ranch outside of Leavenworth, WA, to greatly expand the conference facility of the presbyteries of North Puget Sound and Central Washington.

The project, part of the Tall Timber's Golden Opportunities Campaign to mark its 50th anniversary, includes a 1,700 square-foot home, which will provide staff housing. It also improvements to other staff housing, new storage sheds for equipment, relocation of RV/camping sites to a better location and the rebuilding/remodeling of existing cabins.

Phase Two plans include improved family and adult facilities at the camp, including a new retreat lodge.

OVERLAND PARK, KS - The Synod of Mid-America's 2008 Senior High Summit is scheduled for Feb. 8-10 at Heartland Presbyterian Center near Parkville, MO.

The theme of the gathering - which will include fun, fellowship, worship, small groups and faith-building activities - is "Joining the Journey." Keynote speaker is the Rev. David Parker, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Galesburg, IL. The summit is sponsored by the synod's Youth Ministry Committee.

LEXINGTON, SC - Trinity Presbytery is sponsoring a Vacation Bible School Open House, Jan 29 at the presbytery's resource center here.

Vacation Bible School resources will be on display and Christian educators from throughout the presbytery will be available for consultation on planning next summer's VBS.

CLEVELAND - The Presbytery of the Western Reserve is sponsoring three session records workshops for pastors, clerks of session and church administrators on Jan. 12 and 13. The workshops will be led by longtime presbytery stated clerk the Rev. Kitty Borchert and presbytery staffer Lee Lohr.

The workshops will cover questions about keeping annual statistics, what to include and not include in session minutes and the importance of keeping accurate records.

The sessions will be held at Rocky River (OH) Presbyterian Church, Independence (OH) Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church of Willoughby, OH.
