How does Calvin sound?
Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (FSPC) World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC)
The Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches (FSPC) and the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) are looking for a hymn and a sermon for the festivities marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformer Jean Calvin. Contributions can be sent in up to 1 April.
How does Calvin sound? The Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches and the World Alliance of Reformed Churches put this question twice last year. With a hymn competition and a sermon competition interested parties from all the world are invited to send contributions for the festivities marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformer Jean Calvin.
The hymn competition is looking for the official hymn of the â??calvin09â?? festivities, The hymn has to be able to be learned quickly in various countries and sung in worship. At the same time it has to stand in the Reformed tradition of hymns, which are based on biblical texts.
New and surprising perspectives on the importance of Calvin for today are being looked for. These are to be supplied in the form of a sermon. The most convincing contributions will be included in the preparations for the official Eurovision televised worship which is planned for Pentecost 2009 in the Cathedral St Pierre in Geneva. The theme for the sermon is "The Freedom of God and Human Freedom".
The final date for entries to the two competitions is 1 April 2008. The prizes will be trips to Geneva or to another city in Europe lasting several days. Further information and conditions for entry can be downloaded at www.calvin90.org

La Fédération des Ã?glises protestantes de Suisse (FEPS) et lâ??Alliance réformée mondiale (ARM) recherchent un hymne et une prédication pour la célébration des 500 ans de la naissance du Réformateur Jean Calvin. Le délai dâ??envoi court encore jusquâ??au 1er avril.
Comment résonne Calvin? Cette question, la Fédération des Ã?glises protestantes de Suisse et lâ??Alliance réformée mondiale lâ??ont posée dans deux sens en 2007. Un concours de cantiques et un concours de prédications appellent chacun les personnes intéressées du monde entier à envoyer leur contribution aux festivités des 500 ans de la naissance du Réformateur Jean Calvin.
Le concours de cantiques recherche lâ??hymne officiel de la célébration de « calvin09 ». Le cantique doit pouvoir être appris rapidement dans des pays différents et être chanté dans les cultes. Simultanément, il doit être conforme à la tradition réformée de cantiques reposant sur des textes bibliques.
On recherche aussi des perspectives neuves et inattendues sur lâ??importance de Calvin à notre époque. Celles-là doivent prendre la forme dâ??une prédication. Les plus remarquables contributions seront intégrées dans les préparatifs du culte officiel transmis en Eurovision et prévu pour Pentecôte 2009 à la cathédrale St-Pierre à Genève. La prédication a pour thématique « Liberté de Dieu et liberté de lâ??être humain ».

La Federación de Iglesias protestantes de Suiza (FEPS) y la Alianza Reformada Mundial (ARM) están buscando un himno y una predicación para la celebración de los 500 años del nacimiento del Reformador Juan Calvin. La fecha lÃmite para los envÃos es el 1o de abril.
¿ Como suena Calvin ? En el año 2007, la Federación de Iglesias protestantes de Suiza (FEPS) y la Alianza reformada mundial se hicieron la pregunta en dos sentidos. Un concurso de cánticos y un concurso de predicaciones llaman a las personas interesadas de todo el mundo a enviar sus contribuciones para las festividades de los 500 años de nacimiento del Reformador Juan Calvin.
El concurso de cánticos busca el himno oficial de la celebración de â??Calvin 09â??. El cántico debe poder aprenderse fácilmente en diferentes paÃses para ser cantado en los cultos. Al mismo tiempo, debe ser conforme a la tradición reformada de cánticos basados en textos bÃblicos.
Se buscan igualmente perspectivas nuevas e inesperadas sobre la relevancia de Calvin en nuestra época. Estas deben tener el formato de una predicación. Las contribuciones que más destaquen serán integradas en los preparativos del culto oficial transmitido por Eurovisión y que tendrá lugar durante la Pentecostés 2009 en la Catedral de San Pedro en Ginebra. La predicación tiene por tema : â??Libertad de Dios y libertad del ser humanoâ??.

Wie klingt Calvin?
Schweizerischer Evangelischer Kirchenbund (SEK) Reformierter Weltbund (RWB)
Der Schweizerische Evangelische Kirchenbund (SEK) und der Reformierte Weltbund (RWB) suchen eine Hymne und eine Predigt für die Feierlichkeiten des 500-Jahr-Jubiläums des Reformators Johannes Calvin. Die Einsendefrist läuft noch bis 1. April.
Wie klingt Calvin? Diese Frage haben der Schweizerische Evangelische Kirchenbund und der Reformierte Weltbund im letzten Jahr gleich zweimal gestellt. Mit einem Liedwettbewerb und einem Predigtwettbewerb sind Interessierte aus aller Welt aufgerufen, Beiträge für die Feierlichkeiten des 500-Jahr-Jubiläums des Reformators Johannes Calvin einzureichen.
Mit dem Liedwettbewerb wird die offizielle Hymne der ?calvin09â?? - Feierlichkeiten gesucht. Das Lied soll in unterschiedlichen Ländern schnell gelernt und in Gottesdiensten gesungen werden können. Gleichzeitig soll es in der reformierten Tradition von Kirchenliedern stehen, die auf biblischen Texten beruhen.
Gesucht werden ausserdem neue und überraschende Perspektiven zur Bedeutung Calvins in heutiger Zeit. Diese sollen in Form einer Predigt eingereicht werden. Die überzeugendsten Beiträge werden in die Vorbereitungen zum offiziellen Eurovisions-Fernsehgottesdienst einfliessen, der für Pfingsten 2009 in der Kathedrale St. Pierre in Genf geplant ist. Die Themenstellung für die Predigt ist ?Freiheit Gottes und Freiheit des Menschenâ??.
Einsendeschluss für beide Wettbewerbe ist der 1. April 2008. Als Preise werden mehrtägige Reisen nach Genf oder in eine andere Stadt in Europa verliehen. Weitere Informationen und die Teilnahmebedingungen sind auf www.calvin09.org abrufbar.
