Three Year Memorial Service for Archbishop Iakovos
New York ? His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of Ammerica will preside at the Three Year Memorial Service for Archbishop Iakovos, former Archbishop of North and South America, on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Manhattan, NY.
The Memorial Service will take place after the Divine Liturgy and before the Doxology commemorating Greek Independence Day, March 25th 1821, in the presence of Greek and American Government officials, State and City representatives, members of the diplomatic corps and various Greek-American organizations who will participate in the Greek Independence Day Parade on 5th Avenue immediately following the Service.
In his Encyclical for the Three Year Memorial Service issued last week, Archbishop Demetrios of America requested that all parishes throughout the Holy Archdiocese offer a Memorial for Archbishop Iakovos after Divine Liturgy on April 6, 2008.
