LCMS finalist in "America's Favorite Mom" contest
Nora Leon, an LCMS Lutheran, is a finalist in NBC's national "America's Favorite Mom" contest that concludes this Sunday on Mother's Day. Leon is a finalist in the "Non-Mom" category, which features women nominated for their work with children who are not their own. Leon lives in Les Cayes, Haiti, West Indies, where she operates an orphanage and works with adoptive parents to place children in American homes.
The winner of the "America's Favorite Mom" contest will be announced on an NBC special hosted by performers Donny and Marie Osmond airing this Sunday, May 11, at 7 p.m. EST.
