ALL AFRICA CONFERENCE OF CHURCHES' MESSAGE TO THE CHURCH IN MADAGASCAR
I greet you in the name of the Prince of Peace and harmony, our Lord Jesus Christ.
The All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) with its 173 Members, three of which are in your beloved country, follows with particular attention the turbulence through which your country is undergoing for the last one month. We have learned with deep sadness that the ongoing tensions surpassed the limits of what is tolerable when the sanctity of life was violated and people created in the God's image lost their lives.
Through the AACC, brothers and sisters in our member churches keep you permanently in prayers, and we express to you and especially to the families who lost their loved ones our deep condolences.
The fact that most of the actors in the current situation including those in the political sphere are not strangers to the faith we share, the very faith that carries us towards hope, love and tolerance, allows us to hope that national peace will be restored very soon, because "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Prov. 1: 7).
We take this opportunity to salute all initiatives and engagements of the Church and individuals for promoting peace and against all forms of violence towards harmony and national cohesion.
"Happy are the Peace-makers for they will be called the children of God" (Matt. 5:9).

Yours in His service,
[signed]
Rev. André Karamaga
GENERAL SECRETARY
