Few of us have not faced the difficulty of coping with health issues
either for our loved ones or ourselves. Our gospels are filled with
stories of Jesus praying touching and healing those who were in need,
both physically and spiritual. The connections between faith and healing
have created a widespread interest in holistic approaches in medicine
and an increased interest in the contributions of faith based medical
services. Out of these conversations a group has challenged the Anglican
Consultative Council to create the Anglican Health Network that would
among other things create a web-based portal for communication and
interaction, facilitate the shipping of used equipment to hospitals in
the developing world and assist the poor in achieving better health
throughout the communion.
In the following podast the Rev Paul Holley the Anglican UN
representative in Geneva discusses the proposal and the benefits that
the Anglican Communion would receive by establishing the Anglican Health
Network.
