Worldwide Bible Society gives NIV Study Bible to PCT pastors

When delegates from the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) 54th  General

Assembly Executive Committee met on July 17th in Tamsui for their  second

meeting of the season, they also took the opportunity to conduct a  gifting

ceremony. The New International Version (NIV) Study Bible was  presented to

PCT by General Secretary Chen Ching-biau from the Worldwide Bible  Society

>on behalf of the organization.

During the ceremony, Chen said he was deeply impressed by the PCT  during a

leaders’ conference last year for pastors from Singapore,  Malaysia and Taiwan.

Because this new NIV Study Bible conforms to the spirit of  Presbyterian

churches and coincides with Calvin’s 500th anniversary,  Worldwide Bible Society

leaders hope that the spirit of reformed churches can be passed on  through this

>gift.

Thanks to a generous offering from an elder who attends  Chen’s church in

Singapore, all PCT pastors will be able to receive a copy of this  new NIV Study

Bible. According to reports, Worldwide Bible Society donated 1,200  NIV Study

>Bibles to the PCT.
